M. Ed Rivas Confirmed as a New Jersey Superior Court Judge

On Monday, October 28th, the Senate confirmed Governor Murphy’s nomination of M. Ed Rivas as a New Jersey Superior Court Judge. Judge Rivas will be assigned to the Camden County vicinage.
Prior to being appointed to the bench, Judge Rivas served as a Public Defender in the Camden County Superior court for over twenty-three (23) years. In September of 2021, after retiring from the Public Defender’s Office, Judge Rivas joined Rosenberg Perry & Associates, LLC, a boutique criminal defense law firm based in Burlington County. While at Rosenberg Perry, Judge Rivas represented individuals charged with criminal and disorderly persons matters throughout New Jersey.
“There is no one who exemplifies honor, integrity and character more than Ed Rivas,” said Daniel M. Rosenberg, managing partner of Rosenberg Perry & Associates. “The Judiciary is gaining a brilliant legal mind and someone with an innate sense of justice.”
“I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Ed these past three years,” said Robert M. Perry. “He is an amazing attorney and an even better person.”
Judge Rivas will be working with the attorneys at Rosenberg Perry & Associates through Friday, November 1st to ensure the smooth transition of all of his pending matters.
On behalf of the entire team at Rosenberg Perry, congratulations, Judge Rivas!
