John S. Sitzler, Esquire

John S. Sitzler is an experienced and effective defense attorney who has been practicing criminal and DWI/DUI defense in New Jersey since 1976. In 2022, Mr. Sitzler joined the law firm of Rosenberg Perry & Associates as Of Counsel, where he continues to zealously defend individuals charged with criminal and DWI/DUI matters.

Mr. Sitzler graduated from Vermont Law School and immediately after served as a judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Herman Belopolsky, J.C.S., Honorable Harold B. Wells, III, A.J.S.C. and Honorable W. Thomas McGann, J.C.S. Upon passing the Bar in New Jersey, he joined the firm of Mathews and Sitzler as an associate and was made partner the following year. In 1990, he and his father, John O. Sitzler, Jr., formed the law firm of Sitzler and Sitzler. At his firm, Mr. Sitzler handled thousands of criminal and DWI/DUI matters throughout New Jersey.

Mr. Sitzler’s experience includes trying criminal jury trials in the Superior Court of New Jersey, criminal and DWI/DUI trials in various Municipal Courts throughout New Jersey and trials at the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law. In his DUI/DWI practice, Mr. Sitzler is one of approximately 50 New Jersey attorneys certified in the operation and maintenance of the Drager Alcotest 7110, the instrument used to test breath samples for blood alcohol content (“BAC”) in New Jersey. In November, 2022, Mr. Sitzler became certified in the Drager Alcotest 9510, the instrument that will be used to test breath samples for BAC in New Jersey in 2023 and beyond.

Mr. Sitzler has served as the Solicitor for the Wrightstown Borough and Delran Township Planning Boards. Mr. Sitzler also served as the Municipal Prosecutor for various municipalities over the years, including Pemberton Township, Hainesport, Cinnaminson, Pemberton, Mount Holly, New Hanover, and Springfield. His time as a Municipal Prosecutor provided Mr. Sitzler with invaluable insight and experience in the prosecution and defense of DWI/DUI and criminal matters.

Outside of the practice of law, Mr. Sitzler has served as a lecturer and professor in various areas of criminal and DWI/DUI law. From 2000 to 2013, Mr. Sitzler taught as an adjunct Professor of Law at Widener University School of Law. Wilmington, Delaware campus and taught Alcohol, Vehicle, and the Law, one of the most popular courses at Widener. Mr. Sitzler also frequently serves as a lecturer in New Jersey at DWI/DUI Continuing Legal Education seminars.

Mr. Sitzler is a lifelong resident of Burlington County and a proud husband, father and grandfather.
