Brandon W. Sweeney is an ambitious, zealous, and determined litigation attorney. He joined Rosenberg | Perry & Associates in 2022 after serving as the firm’s law clerk for approximately two years. Mr. Sweeney represents clients in all stages of litigation, with a focus in criminal defense. Mr. Sweeney represents criminal defendants at Superior and Municipal Court levels in New Jersey. He also represents litigants in the prosecution and defense of Restraining Orders and in employment disciplinary matters.
Mr. Sweeney excelled and graduated from Rutgers University School of Law (formerly Rutgers School of Law – Camden) in 2021. With a concentration in litigation and trial work, Mr. Sweeney completed courses focused on criminal procedure, trial advocacy, and criminal litigation. He was a participant in the Honorable James Hunter III Moot Court Competition and showcased his writing and oral appellate advocacy skills.
Mr. Sweeney has a passion for advocacy. His passion was expressed in part by his participation in the Pennsylvania Innocence Project. Both as an undergraduate and in law school, Mr. Sweeney aggressively investigated prisoners’ innocence claims and assisted in researching and drafting appeals.
Mr. Sweeney was also a member of Rutgers Race and the Law Review journal, which was founded in 1996. This is the second journal in the country to focus on the broad spectrum of multicultural issues. His writing skills and legal acumen were recognized by his appointment as a Senior Managing Editor of the Race and the Law Review and his legal note on Qualified Immunity, Policing, and Civil Rights Litigation was published in the 2021 edition of the journal.
Outside of his work as an attorney, Mr. Sweeney can be found exploring hiking trails in the area, running the Ben Franklin Bridge, and attending Philadelphia sporting events.
